Premium, local formulas crafted from 100% USA grown hemp… featuring full-spectrum extract

  • Who are we?
CBD & ME® is distributed by Shake Brands Corp. ("Shake Brands") - a branding company with a focus on licensing, product manufacturing and retail distribution in the industrial hemp space with facilities located in Fayetteville (Johnson) AR. Shake Brands is a 100% woman-owned business founded by Julie Brents, Brittany Phillips, Antigone ("Tig") Davoulas and Syrona Scott. Shake Brands is the only certified producer of organic industrial hemp self-care products in NWA and in early 2020, Shake Brands became one (1) of only four (4) organizations registered by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to produce organic hemp product lines in the Southern United States. The CBD & ME® brand is also a champion of plant science and sustainability supported by our commitment to cruelty-free, chemical-free, minimal packaging and eco-friendly display materials. Every single CBD & ME® product is made thoughtfully with high performing certified organic ingredients in our USDA certified lab.
  • What is our mission?
Our mission for CBD & ME® - FORMULAS FOR A BETTER ME® is to engineer formulas for the health focused who want to practice effective self-care without using a single drop of artificial chemicals. We measure quality starting with whole plant extracts and single strain genetics. Our standards are high and include starting with USDA certified organic hemp plants grown in the USA that were processed with food-grade ethanol, leaving no residual solvents behind all backed up by third party lab testing. We do not believe in using any further processing that would strip the plant of its natural and high-performing compounds and all of our products feature only natural, full-spectrum hemp extract.
  • What does our brand stand for?
To us, CBD stands for Collaboration By Design. CBD & ME® is a registered trademark of Shake Collaboration, LLC, a branding services division of Shake Brands Corp. Read more about it here. As founders and creators of the CBD & ME® brand, we believe that our formulas have the potential to work for everybody. CBD & ME® is also especially supportive of local farmers and co-ops, veterans, women in science and promoting inclusivity within our organization and throughout our professional network and supply chain.
  • What is CBD oil?
Simply put, CBD or “Cannabidiol” refers to the concentrated liquid extract of the flowering hemp plant that contains a multitude of natural, helpful compounds for our bodies known as cannabinoids.
  • What’s the difference between hemp and traditional cannabis?
Though they come from the very same plant family, each compound functions in a different way. Cannabis typically has a high level of THC and is used medically or for recreational purposes to “get high.” Think of CBD as the sober cousin of THC that is non-intoxicating, but retains a majority of the coveted healing properties the plant has to offer. Hence, the appeal of using hemp oil extracts and CBD products in our everyday lives has gone mainstream.
  • How does it work inside the body?
Full-spectrum hemp extract works by interacting with specific cannabinoid receptors that are already present inside the body of all mammals. These receptors help the human body to regulate a variety of physiological processes. CBD is a plant based cannabinoid that pairs directly with the naturally occurring “endocannabinoid system,” or ECS inside of your body as well as inside your pet!
  • What does full-spectrum mean?
CBD & ME® is made without stripping cannabinoids from the plant, without any artificial ingredients and without chemicals. All CBD & ME® products are derived from industrial hemp and contain less than 0.3% THC, the current federal legal limit. This is why trace levels of THC are important. They further activate receptors and maximize the overall experience, also referred to as the “entourage effect.”
  • Is CBD legal in my state?
Always check your local rules to be sure if any new restrictions apply. CBD & ME® is compliant with federal law and all CBD & ME® products have been certified organic by the USDA. For a copy of our most recent certification, click here or search for Shake Brands Corp. on the National Organic Integrity Database. Of course, it is always good to be educated about the legal status of any product. According to the USDA: The Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018 (2018 Farm Bill) authorized the production of hemp and removed hemp and hemp seeds from the Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) schedule of Controlled Substances. In response to questions raised concerning provisions pertaining to the interstate transportation of hemp and who may obtain a license to produce hemp, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Office of the General Counsel (OGC) has concluded the following: 1. As of the enactment of the 2018 Farm Bill on December 20, 2018, hemp has been removed from schedule I of the Controlled Substances Act and is no longer a controlled substance. 2. After USDA publishes regulations implementing the new hemp production provisions of the 2018 Farm Bill, States and Indian tribes may not prohibit the interstate transportation or shipment of hemp lawfully produced under a State or Tribal plan or under a license issued under the USDA plan. 3. States and Indian tribes also may not prohibit the interstate transportation or shipment of hemp lawfully produced under the 2014 Farm Bill. 4. A person with a State or Federal felony conviction relating to a controlled substance is subject to a 10-year ineligibility restriction on producing hemp under the Agricultural Marketing Act of 1946. An exception applies to a person who was lawfully growing hemp under the 2014 Farm Bill before December 20, 2018, and whose conviction also occurred before that date. We would also note, in the USA the legal definition of “industrial hemp,” per Section 7606 of the Agricultural Appropriations Act of 2014, is “INDUSTRIAL HEMP — The term ‘‘industrial hemp’’ means the plant Cannabis sativa L. and any part of such plant, whether growing or not, with a delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol concentration of not more than 0.3 percent on a dry weight basis.”
